Struffoli is an originally Neapolitan dish made of deep fried balls of dough the size of marbles. Crunchy on the outside and light inside, they’re mixed with honey and other sweet ingredients. There are many different ways to make and dress them, a traditional way is to top them with honey and diavulilli (sprinkles), cinnamon, and bits of orange rind. They’re served at Christmas, Easter, sometimes parties and they’re sometimes served warm, or scooped into a small bag for gifts. It’s usually served with a glass of water.

The Festa del Torrone in Cremona is a festival dedicated to Italy’s favorite Christmas nougat (‘torrone’).
I had no idea such a festival existed. Given my love of torrone, this just went on the “must” list.
